Father's Day

On Father's Day we let Dustin sleep in... sorta. Kate was so excited to give Daddy his presents that she kept trying to go upstairs to wake him up! I finally gave in around 9:30. Kate went upstairs and woke Daddy up, gave him a big hug, said "Happy Fadder's Day!" and then we went downstairs.

We made him a t-shirt and a candy filled pot, and I bought him this wrestling wii game he's been asking for forever. My mom got him the Simpson's glasses. After opening presents, we all cuddled up on the couch to watch Finding Nemo and drink chocolate shakes.

Later that afternoon Kate and I made a cake.  We also made sure to call Grandpa Foree to wish him a Happy Father's Day, and Uncle Jared to wish him a Happy Birthday!

We had delicious waffles for dinner, and then we headed over to Jaron and Beth's house for games and cake and ice cream.  We skyped with Grandpa Watson to wish him a Happy Father's Day, and then put a movie on for the kids while the adults played Wizards.  Which, for the record, I did not win this time.  I just had to write that somewhere because everyone claims that I always win that game.  It was a pretty perfect Father's Day (aside from the little girls playing in the turtle tank!) and we had a lot of fun.

Making Daddy's presents

Last Thursday Kate and I got together with Bethany, Maddock and Jaylee and made some Father's Day gifts for the Dad's in our lives. I saw this cute idea on one of my favorite craft sites the other day, and I knew I wanted to make some. So we painted up some terra cotta pots and stuck a felt tie on front. I had Kate put her hand prints on the side. Unfortunately, they do not look like handprints because she would wiggle her hand as soon as it touched the pot. Oh well. We later filled them with lots of candy.

Since we were working with fabric paint for our next project, we decided it would be best if our children removed their clothes.  Then we got started on making T-shirts!

The finished project.  I think it turned out cute!  Kate sure had fun making it!

Baby Shower

Yesterday was my baby shower and it was so fun! My awesome friend Kendra threw it for me and she did an amazing job. I'm SO MAD that I spaced on taking pictures of all her decorations but it turned out so cute. She went with a Mario theme and had posters, balloons, napkins, and Dustin's artwork displayed. We had some seriously delicious breakfast food (my fave) to eat. We had a waffle bar with strawberries and whipped cream and homemade syrup, creme brulee french toast, an egg and sausage bake, melon salad, and strawberries and blueberries with fruit dip. Yuuuummmm.

We had a good turnout too! A lot of my friends from my ward were there, my mom and mother in law, Bethany, and my friend Amy all came. My friend Cami lead us in a few games (I won one!), and then I opened my presents.

I got so much good stuff! Lots of clothes and baby wipes, baby toys and binkies, my friend Brianne made me a stamped necklace (love it), Holly made the 1-up onesie, Beth made Max a blanket and a little stuffed owl, my mother in law bought me a new stroller, and my mom got me a car seat.

It was so fun, and I definitely feel more ready for this little guy to come! Thanks so much to everyone! You are all awesome!

34 weeks

I just realized I hadn't posted a belly pic since about 28 weeks so here you go:

Yyyeeaaahhh...I'm huge.  I definitely feel huge, but I hate how you don't realize just HOW big you've gotten until you see a picture of yourself.  That's why my face is strategically cropped out of the picture.

Here are my confessions at 34 weeks along:

This little guy sits really low, and I'm definitely a slow walker/waddler.

It's getting harder to do daily things like, pick up toys off the ground. 

I feel like I have the appetite of 3 grown men.

I have ZERO energy.  Nap time is now more for me than it is for Kate.  I'm still waiting for that nesting burst of energy so I can actually accomplish some things.

I'm kind of panicking that he will be here in less than 5 weeks!

I'm nervous about how I'm going to handle two children and recover from surgery at the same time.

I'm already planning his newborn pictures.

I want to buy every cute little boy outfit I see, but am refraining until after I've had my baby shower.

Being pregnant in June is NOT fun, I'm dreading my electricity bill.

I love feeling him kick, and watching my belly constantly move.

Silly things make me cry like the ballroom scene in Beauty and the Beast, or when that guy proposed to his girlfriend on Wipeout, or when I found a fly in my taco last night.

I'm constantly craving sweets.

I've gained 30 lbs this pregnancy, which is good considering that I really haven't been watching what I eat at all.  Hopefully I won't put on too much more, but there's no guarantees with this crazy appetite I have!

I'm super stressed about our insurance situation.  We are currently uninsured, but Dustin's new insurance kicks in on the 26th.  So that should be okay, but I'm worried that for some reason the new insurance will see my pregnancy as a pre-existing condition.  Most companies don't, but I haven't heard a lot of good things about Aetna.

I'm excited for another c-section because that means I can do my hair and makeup before going to the hospital so that I'll look decent in those first family pictures.

I planned my surgery for the morning, so that there would be good light for pictures.  Okay that's not the reason, but it's a definite plus!  I planned it for the morning because you're not allowed to eat or drink anything 8 hours prior to operation.  So, I wanted the earliest appointment they had.

I'm so excited to meet my little boy.

34 days to go!

"Wook, Mom!"

It's just been one of those days.

The pregnancy is making me uncomfortable, tired, and grouchy.
A cup got lodged in my disposal and it took about 30 minutes to get it out.
Every time I start to clean, Kate makes another mess right behind me.
Kate is whining about everything.
I'm feeling down on myself as a mother. 
So, you might think that this is what would finally send me over the edge...

But it was the first thing that made me smile all day.

I love being a mom.

Max's room!

We are so proud of how his room turned out!  You only WISH your room was this cool!

Kate really loves his room too.  In fact, lately she's been associating anything Mario with "baby brudder".

 Her favorite thing to do in to climb in and out of his crib.  I'm so surprised she never did this when she slept in it!

I had my friend Cami print out his name in red vinyl.
