Counting down

Today I scheduled my c-section. Baby Max will be here no later than July 19th, 2011. I'm a little bummed they didn't let me schedule any earlier (I was aiming for 38 weeks), but I guess that's my doctors policy because she wouldn't let me. But it's good to know there is an end in sight! I'm 32 weeks now, and each day I'm getting more and more excited for our little boy to be here.

We've been working hard on his room, and let me just say, it's going to be awesome! I will be posting pictures soon, so stay tuned for that. I think we'll have it all done within the next week or two.

I had to take the 3 hour glucose test AGAIN. I had to take it with Kate, and it was the worst! This time around though I had someone really good who took my blood. She did it so fast I didn't even have a chance to feel light headed! It was truly a blessing, because I do not handle getting blood drawn well, and you have to be fasting as well. But-- I passed! No gestational diabetes for me!

He is a very active little guy and I just love to feel (and watch) him kicking me. It's my favorite part about being pregnant.

I'm getting really big. I told Dustin the other day that I feel like a boulder. That's the best way I can describe it. I haven't gained as much weight as I did with Kate (yay!) but I'm still really big and uncomfortable.

My baby shower will be June 18th 10:30 am. My awesome friend Kendra is throwing it for me and it's going to be so fun. There will be a waffle/breakfast bar so come hungry! Mark your calendars!

Well, I think that's all the baby updates I have right now. 49 days to go!

Baking with Mommy

Kate just loves to help me in the kitchen. No matter what I'm making, she'll pull a chair up right beside me, stand on it, and insist on "stirring" things. Yesterday, it actually worked out in her benefit. I decided to make a cake, and Kate was more than willing to help me clean the beaters.

Like Mother Like Daughter

I don't have any pictures of this first incident, but I still feel like it needs to be written down. Lately I've been getting bigger and bigger, which means I have less and less energy. Translation= Kate gets into more and more trouble because she knows mommy doesn't have the energy to keep a constant eye on her. Well, two days ago, she found my scissors! Not just any scisscors-- my super expensive, super nice, hair cutting shears! And-- you guessed it-- she had cut her hair. Luckily it's not in a noticeable spot. She had only cut into the top layer of her hair and you can't see it unless you really know what you're looking for. Well, when I realized she had my shears, I immediately yelled at her

"No! Don't drop the scissors!"

Once you drop shears, the warranty is voided and they never work the same again. So I was, sad to say, way more worried about my shears than I was about my daughter's well being.

I took the shears, put them in a safe spot, and scolded Kate for playing with them. To which she looked me straight in the eye and said,

"I need a haircut Mom!".

Oh my goodness.

Incident two. Yesterday Kate was playing in the front room and I was probably on the computer. I hear Kate yell, "CHEESE!" and I look over to see this:

haha.  They really do watch everything you do!

I'm usually wearing pants though.

Tinkerbell

Have I mentioned how much Kate loves Tinkerbell? She asks to watch it EVERY DAY. It's okay really, there are much worse things she could ask to watch every day (Yo Gabba Gabba anyone?). She usually will bring her Tinkerbell doll down, and plop herself in front of the tv, and say, "Mom!  Tinkobell?"  And she's glued for an hour and a half.

I love this picture.  It says, "Mom!  Stop taking pictures!  I'm trying to watch TV!"

Last Saturday we went to the Disney store.  Kate quickly found the Tinkerbell display, and Dustin put these wings on her.  Well, of course we should've known that would be a mistake!  We couldn't get them off of her!  So Dustin, being the sucker for his little girl that he is, bought them for her and she wore them out of the store.  She enjoyed "flying" everywhere that day.

They are currently her favorite toy.

Baby Max Update

Yesterday we had another ultrasound. Kate and Dustin went with me, and Kate was SO excited to be able to see the baby. She kept pointing to the the screen and saying "baby brudder!". It was so adorable.

My babies are always in weird positions during ultrasounds.  I never get good pics :(   But here is one of his face I think.

And the 3D ultrasounds, are always a little frightening...

From what I can tell though, I think he looks like Dustin.

The doctor says everything looks good and that he is healthy.  My official due date is July 25th, but I won't be having him any later than the 18th.  I'm planning on scheduling my c-section at 39 weeks and if I happen to go into labor before then, then I might just try VBAC.  Or if I feel like not even dealing with labor-- I'll try to schedule it at 38 weeks which would be the 11th.  These are things I'm going to discuss with my doctor at my next appointment, which happen every two weeks now.  I can't believe I'm already that far along!  Also, I noticed at my ultrasound that he was measuring a week bigger than I am-- not sure how that factors into things.

Well, either way, in just over 2 months we will have our little boy!  We are so excited!

Maternity Pictures

If you glance over at my pregnancy ticker today, you'll realize that today marks 28 weeks! What?!? Where has the time gone? I can't believe I'm already in my third trimester, and that my baby boy will be here soon! We have nothing prepared at all, other than a couple outfits, so we'd better get cracking! On Saturday I had my friend and fellow photographer Brianna take some maternity/family pictures for us. I did the editing. She had edited a few for me, but somehow I lost them when I converted the files for my photoshop. Anyway, not that you needed to know that...

Sorry for the massive share, but that's just who I am!
I know I'm only 28 weeks in these pictures, but lets face it-- I'm already big and I have yet to get a lot bigger.  I wanted to take the pictures while I still felt cute.  And I'm very glad I did.

The other big news is that (drumroll.......) we picked a name!  This little guy's name will be

Max Paul Watson!

For a long time I was debating over whether to name him Jack or Max.  Well, every time I asked Kate, "Should we name baby brother Jack or Max?"  she would always respond with a very enthusiastic "Max!" and after awhile the name just stuck.

We can't wait for baby Max to get here!
