First swim!

Today I took Kate to Sherice's house and we went swimming in her pool. Kate loved the water! Well... she didn't cry, so we think she liked it. She looked so cute in her swimsuit and sunglasses. Here are some pictures of our adventure in the water.

The whole ensemble
Just relaxing...

2 months old!

Kate is 2 months old today! I can't believe it! Isn't she the cutest?

We just love this little girl so much. She's such an amazing baby!

She slept for 7 hours last night! Two nights before that she slept for 8! This girl just loves to sleep. She is one crazy sleeper! Just like her momma.

She also loves to dress up...
and make weird faces.
When she's not sleeping, eating, kicking or cooing, she and her side kick Jaylee are off saving the world! I told you she was amazing!

Look what I did! :)

Please tell me that everyone can see this cute font that my post titles are in. No really, I need to know that everyone can see what I see. If you can't, I need to figure out what I did wrong and fix it.

If you can- aren't you jealous?

It took me for-eh-ver to figure it out, even with the step-by-step instructions on this site.

They have the cutest fonts and they are all free!

I apologize

I've really been blogging about my daughter a lot lately.

So in an attempt to expand my horizons, I'm going to share my opinions on things-that-don't-matter-but-we-care-about-anyway.

For starters-- current events.
I personally stopped watching this show a while ago. The last couple seasons turned into one big commercial. It was basically an enormous ad for all the resorts, amusement parks, and zoos they visit free of charge. The product placement was annoying as well, leapfrog, nintendo, Ann Taylor. Not quite as annoying as when The Biggest Loser tries to push Extra gum, or Cheerios on us, but still. They went from a completely happy life in a little house, to a family obsessed with fame and money. And as for the parents...

Enough already!! You both claim that your children are your number one priority, but wouldn't the best thing for them be to end the show? It's hard enough for kids to go through a divorce let alone with the world watching. If you don't want your kids to end up like all the other child stars -end the show. Take them out of the spotlight. You may still be able to stop the inevitable Memoirs of a Gosselin Child biographies.

Whew! Glad I got that off my chest!

And wives--if you don't want to end up a nag-- please read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. It's the best book about marriage ever. Also I heard she just came out with a book called In Praise of Stay at Home Moms. I'd like to read that. Maybe I'll go get it this weekend at Barnes and Noble.

Also- I need a good book to read. Any suggestions?

Heidi Klum is pregnant with her fourth child. She said in a recent interview that she always gains 45-50 pounds with each pregnancy. It makes me happy to know that even the most beatutiful people in the world can't escape pregnancy weight gain.

I'm really excited for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. It looks really awesome. He is one of the most imaginative directors, so I can't see how this couldn't be good. Plus- I love Johnny Depp and he's playing the Mad Hatter. I just read that he gave a waiter a $4000.00 tip. See? Handsome and generous.

I cried when those three kids (Voices of Glory) sang God Bless America on America's Got Talent.
I laughed when that guy sang that song about David Hasselhoff.

Did anyone see when Mark Paul Gosselaar appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show as his teenage alter-ego Zack Morris? Hilarious. He hasn't aged a bit.

I'm supporting Jimmy Fallon's attempts at a Saved by the Bell reunion. How do I donate to the cause?

And finally I need to ask y'all a question that has been bothering me for sometime:

If Buzz Lightyear believed that he was a real spaceman, how did he know to be still like a toy when Andy entered the room?

Kate and Jaylee

Grandma Watson bought the girls matching outfits. So of course we had to take pictures! Here is Jaylee and Kate. Kate is 7 weeks old, and Jaylee is 5 weeks old. Have I mentioned how grateful I am that Kate has a cousin so close in age? It is just going to be so fun watching these two beautiful girls grow up together! It already has been!

As for an udpate on our lives, things are going really well. Kate is a very beautiful and healthy baby. She is now 8 weeks old! I can't believe that much time has already passed. I'm having so much fun being a mom. She is sleeping well. She'll sleep for about 5 hour stretches during the night. I love it! Sometimes she'll wake up every three hours, but usually I'll get at least one 5 hours stretch a night. Kate is eating very well too. She used to eat every 3 hours, but lately she has been eating every two. Yesterday it felt like she was eating every hour. She must be going through a growth spurt. She doesn't have another doctors appointment until the 7th, but she's finally outgrown her newborn clothes, and is now in 0/3 months.

She loves to stare at our faces, and she'll smile when you talk to her. She laughs in her sleep, and it's hilarious! She loves to sit up and look around, and snuggle with mom when she's tired. We love this girl! I am so grateful that she is part of our lives. I cannot believe how lucky I am. We are very blessed.

Sherice's Wedding!!

This last weekend was so much fun. On friday Dustin left work early and we headed home to the White Mountains. We stayed in Snowflake friday night and celebrated my brother Jared's birthday. My family really loves Kate and they we so excited to see her awake!

The next morning we left Kate with my family and went to the temple. Sherice and Scott both looked amazing and their ceremony was beautiful. Sherice was really nervous, it was super cute. I'm so glad she finally found someone! I can't imagine someone more perfect for her than Scott. We love you Scott! Welcome to the family!

After the ceremony we had planned to take pictures, but it was so windy! It reminded me of my wedding day. It was so windy that day that my veil kept flying off my head and we'd have to chase it down. So after decided that it was just way to windy to take pictures we headed to the luncheon.

The reception was later that night and it was so beautiful! Sherice's colors were pink, orange and yellow. I can't remember the name of the wedding decorater, but she was awesome! The food was great, and she even made these edible flowers for the cupcakes. Very talented. Sherice's sister-in-laws made tutus for all the little girls to wear. It completely overpowered Kate, but it was so freaking adorable. They also made orange ties for all of Scott's nephews. So adorable!

We love you Scott and Sherice! Have a great honeymoon! See you soon!

A Perfect Way to Start Your Day

Kate has been starting to smile lately. Every morning when I peer over her crib and say "Good Morning!" I am greeted with a big toothless smile! I tried to capture the event on camera. It's so hard to get a good picture of a wiggly baby!

Who wouldn't want to wake up to this?
