First off was the parade! All the cousins were there and they had a blast! Kate was very aggressive about getting the candy. She gave me a heart attack a couple of times when she got too close to the floats!
We sat by Horne Auto and they had all these tents set up. Well a little into the parade there was a gust of wind that blew the whole thing down. One lady even got hit by one of the cinder blocks they had used to try to weigh it down. She had to be taken in an ambulance to the hospital to check for broken ribs. So sad! So after that, Grandpa and Dustin were tent poles for the rest of the parade.
The parade was great. There were so many floats dedicated to the Yarnell 19. It made me teary eyed every time I saw one. For those readers that aren't from Arizona, this was a group of 19 firefighters that all lost their lives recently fighting a fire in Yarnell, AZ.
We spent the rest of the day playing outside at Grandpa and Grandma's house. I could not keep my kids inside this whole trip. They just loved being able to play outside! Max loved playing football with Grandpa and Daddy.
A lovely 4th of July dessert!
Finally it was time for fireworks. We watched the Showlow fireworks from the church.
