My 3 kids

It's been almost 3 months since Jack was born, and today I just wanted to sit down and write a little about each of my kids, and a little about how life has been for us.

Thankfully adjusting to 3 kids has been relatively easy for me.  Yes someone always needs you, you don't know where the time goes everyday, it takes 3 times as long to get everyone out of the house, so many diaper changes, feedings, tantrums, whining and fighting, and cleaning is never ending!  It reminds me of this meme I saw going around facebook.

But Jack SLEEPS!  He only waked up once a night to eat and goes right back to sleep.  Getting a good nights sleep helps me out so much.  So yes, even though having 3 kids under the age of 5 right now is exhausting, I'm more apt to handle it because he's such a good sleeper.

Kate is obsessed with Jack.  She's always holding him and carrying him (heavily supervised of course) and playing with him.  She is always making sure he is taken care of.  "Mom did you feed him yet?  Okay good."  "Mom, Jack needs a diaper change."  "Mom Jack is CRYING! You need to pick him up!"

Max loves him a lot too, but his interest in the baby is always very short lived.  He'll come and snuggle with him a little everyday, give him and hug and a kiss, but then he's off to saving the world from bad guys and monsters again.

Max is at such a fun age right now.  He is a hilarious little boy.  He loves all things boy.  Cars, superheroes, Transformers,  Power Rangers, fighting, making messes, he always has a sword in his hand, Ninja Turtles, legos, blocks and singing the songs of Frozen.  Haha.  Kate rounds him out a bit.

He is also very much TWO.  Holy moly he can be a picky eater, whiner, and tantrum thrower.  He is definitely the child that is testing my patience these days, but that's what he's supposed to be doing.  He is two, and I love him for it.

I also tried to potty train him a little while ago.  I tried for about a week and a half, but his utter lack of initiative made me throw in the towel.  He never went by himself once, and I've got too many other things going on to keep putting on the potty every half hour.  I'll try again after our Disney trip.

That's right we are going to DISNEYLAND at the end of this month.  I'm so excited!  We are actually going to be there on Kate's birthday, so that will make it even more fun!  I can't wait!  Kate has lots of princess dresses she can pick from to wear, and I just had to make her this Minnie Mouse dress!

I'm going to make the boys some cute shirts to go along with it, and hopefully I can find all the pieces to Max's old Mickey costume that he wore at the same age as Jack to Disney.

Kate and Max still sleep in the same bed.  They are best friends.  It's going to be interesting to see how their dynamic changes with a 3rd sibling and Kate going to Kindergarten at the end of July.  I hope they remain close.  Ack!  A Kindergartener!  I'm already emotional just thinking about it.

We sure love this cute little guy and all the changes he's brought into our family. I LOVE having a baby again. He is so so snuggly and I just hold him all the time.  He's so squishy and chubby.  He's only 2 months and already I have had to pull out all my 3-6 month and 6-9 month clothes.  I love it!

I love my kids so much and every day I'm so grateful that they call me mom.

Jack's Blessing

Last weekend was a big one for Jack.  He turned 2 months old on the 7th, and it was his blessing day on the 9th!  He looked so handsome for his big day.  We took a few pictures before we left the house.

Our ward is a very young ward and Jack was the 3rd baby being blessed that Sunday.  Dustin bore his testimony, and so did Kate.   She had been asking and practicing for months and I love that the first time she bore her testimony was the same sunday we blessed the baby.

This time I also did something I really regret not doing with the other kids.  I recorded the blessing, and I wrote it down.  I love that I have it forever now.

"Dear Heavenly Father in the name of thy son Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which we hold, we take this infant in our arms to give him a name and a blessing.  The name by which he shall be known on the records of the church and throughout his life is Jack Calvin Watson. Jack at this time we wish to give you a blessing.  We bless you with the knowledge of how special you are to your family, that you will know of the love that your mother and father have for you, and the love that your siblings have for you.  Not only that but throughout your life you will know, you will feel of the love that your Father in Heaven has for you.  The knowledge of this love will help you as you stay close to the Gospel, as you stay on the narrow path and hold to the iron rod.  We bless you with a thirst for knowledge, that as you go throughout this life you will seek out those truths, that you will seek to know the eternal truths of thy Father in Heaven, that you will also seek to gain a knowledge in everything, and that you will have a thirst to learn in school and to gain an education that will help you in your life.  We bless you with strength.  We bless you that you will look to the example of your mother throughout your life. That you will look to her for counsel, that you will follow the examples of your siblings, your brother and sister, that you will also be an example to your family, and a strength to us.  We bless you Jack that you will be physically strong.  That you will always have the strength and energy to do what is asked of you to serve your father in heaven and to serve your brothers and sisters.  We bless you that as you strive to stay close to your Father in Heaven you will one day be able to enter his temple and make sacred covenants with him.  This will also allow you to find a choice daughter of God and marry for time and all eternity.  We bless you with a testimony. You will grow and have a desire to gain a testimony and always be strengthening it so that when times get tough you will remember your Father in Heaven loves you.  We bless you with these things and all other blessings your Father in Heaven has for you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

We took a few pictures outside before heading back to my house.  Not the greatest pictures, but they are the most current of the Watson family!  My Dad and brothers Alex and Jared also came as well, but snuck off before I could get a picture with them.  Jared is an Elder now and was able to stand in the circle as well!

I love these special days, and love my family of 5!

Yesterday we took a trip to Schnepf Farms. Their Peach Blossom festival is going on right now, and we decided to go check it out. Beth, Jaylee, and Maelee came with us and we had a blast. We rode the train, walked out to the peach blossoms, saw the deer, and played at the park and petting zoo. This is such a fun location that is so close to us. Everything but the train ride was free, and it's so much fun for the littles.  We will have to go again in April when the peaches are ready to pick!

Valentines Day

I hope everyone had a good valentines day this year.  Ours was pretty low key this year but great nonetheless.

Kate hand made all her valentines this year. We even sent some to Grandmas and Grandpas! In this picture she is working on some for her little preschool friends.

On the day of Valentines we made Daddy his favorite sugar cookies, gave him a box of candy bars and a mustache mug.  Dustin sent me a beautiful bouquet, along with one of his cheesy-non-poems that make me laugh.  Dustin made the kids cute little valentines with characters Mike Wazoski and Olaf, and I set out some candy for them along with a small present each.

The gifts I got the kids.   A cute Elsa necklace (a lady in my neighborhood makes them) and a Power Rangers mask (his latest obsession).

That night we put the kids to bed early.  This year we decided not to face the crowds and made ourselves a steak dinner and rented a movie.  We'll make up for it later!

Happy Valentines Day!

Brothers

I snapped these pictures the other day when Max actually held Jack for more than .5 seconds.  I LOVE these boys!  They make my heart happy.

I just love everything about this picture.  Max's refusal to wear pants, his binky in his mouth, Captain America by his side, and the way he is looking at his baby brother.  But the thing I love MOST about this picture is how Jack is staring back at him.  I love my sweet boys.

1 month old

Wow I can't believe already a month has flown by.  We love our baby Jack and are so glad he decided to join our family!

I'm adjusting to three kids better than I adjusted to two I think.  So far it really hasn't been that big of a change.  The main things I've noticed is that it takes way longer to leave the house, and when we do it can get a little crazy if I've got all of them by myself.  I've run out of hands to hold everyone with!  This time around I've been trying to not stress too much about things like cleaning the house, and just focus on my little baby.  He's only going to be this small once, and I don't want to feel like I missed it.  The house can wait.

He is such a good baby.  He eats about every 2-3 hours during the day and at night he goes about 4-5 hours in between feedings.  Even though he only wakes up twice a night, I'm still adjusting to my new sleep schedule haha.  When we is awake he can get a little fussy, and lately he likes to be held a lot, but I don't mind that at all!  I love my snuggly little baby!

I don't have any stats on him yet, I need to remember to make his 1 month appointment this week!

What Kate has to say about her baby brother:

"I like how he's so cute and that he looks at me and that he stares at me funny.  I love Jack.  I love Jack very much, he makes me just want to hug him, and he's so cute that I just want to look at him!"

What Max has to say:

"Jack is a baby human."

Of course an update about the baby is not complete without some adorable pictures!
