Art Festival

Last weekend we went to the Tempe Festival of the Arts. I love love LOVE the art festival! It comes every spring and winter, but I haven't been able to go for a couple years, so I was really excited to go. There are probably about 200 different booths and vendors, and everything is so unique and interesting. One day I'll actually have money to spend there!

We stopped at In N' Out Burger before. Kate really liked wearing the hat!

Afterwards we let Kate drive home. Just kidding, but isn't she so cute?

Temple Lights

The Friday after Thanksgiving, all of us Watsons (and Mills) went to see the lights at the Temple.

They were beautiful, just like they are every year!

I love how all the guys are in shorts. Only in Phoenix can you enjoy Christmas lights while still in summer clothing!

What you've missed...

Today I finally caved and bought another camera cord. My original one is just nowhere to be found!

So for my first post back, I'm going to catch ya'll up on how much Kate has grown up in the past few weeks. Ever since she started crawling, it seems like she's learning a new skill everyday!

The night before we moved we heard her laughing in her crib, the laughing soon turned to yelling, so we went in to check on her and found this:

She was so proud of herself for standing up in her crib!

She loved moving because she got to play with all the boxes.

She loves to crawl in between the couch and the chair. It's like her own private tunnel into the kitchen.

Her favorite place to be is up playing with the entertainment center. She knows how to open all the drawers and push the buttons on the TV and DVR.

She can pull herself up on the couch now, and can slowly scoot along it.

Merry Christmas! We found this little Santa hat in our Christmas decorations. I can't remember what it used to be for, but apparently it is too little for Kate.

She has now figured out how to climb the stairs as well! Nothing is out of her reach anymore...

We sure do love this little girl...
I can't believe that 7 months have already flown by.

Blogging Woes

I STILL cannot find my camera cord.

I know I packed it. I REMEMBER packing it, but I have no idea into which box, bag, or bin it went. I have looked everywhere, I really have.

I will keep searching, but if I cannot find it by tomorrow, I will have to purchase another.

Then it'll show up right?

Update

Our internet was set up on last Friday, which means I went almost an entire two weeks without it! How did I survive?

So I just wanted to write a quick post and let everyone know where we've been for the past two weeks!

We moved into our house on Saturday the 21st. We are loving it! We had a lot of help that day and were able to move fairly quickly. The weekend before we bought our appliances off of craigslist and painted the house. I just have to say that craigslist is awesome! We bought a fridge, washer, and a dryer (all almost new) for only $650. We are now almost all settled in, and loving life in our new home!

Kate is growing up way to fast! She can now pull herself up, crawl really fast, and has started to say syllables like "da" and "ma". She also likes to entertain herself by yelling as loud as she can. She turned 7 months old yesterday and I just can't believe it!

Thanksgiving was awesome, as always. This year we had it at Dustin's Uncle Brian's house. Dinner was delicious, and we had our traditional White Elephant exchange. The boys watched football while the girls watched She's the Man in the theater room.

I went Black Friday shopping with my sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and my friend Amy at 12:01 friday morning! It was so much fun! The mall was crazy busy, but that's all part of the fun! I headed home around 3:00 am, but they were the real troopers and were out until 8:00!

We went to see the Temple lights on Friday night. They were so pretty, and I just love the spirit that the temple brings.

Today we attempted to go to church, but found out that we went to the wrong ward! I did get to see one of my old friends from beauty school there though, so that was fun. We will be in our assigned ward next week. haha.

I did take pictures of all of these events, but my camera needs new batteries and I have yet to find my camera cord. I will be updating and posting pics of everything as soon as I find the cord, and can afford batteries.

Happy (late) Thanksgiving everyone! Now lets get ready for Christmas!

Kate's First Crawl

That's right!

My baby is crawling! This is literally her first crawl. I saw her doing it and I grabbed my camera and pressed record. I'm so proud of her! Now she is everywhere! She was before, she really knew how to get around just by rolling and scooting, but now she's a lot quicker! She knows exactly where she's not supposed to be, and goes right there. It's time to start baby proofing.

It's so funny because just about an hour earlier I decided to take a little video of her funny rolly-crawl. This is how she used to get around before. It's so funny.

I can't believe how big she has gotten!

6 month checkup

Kate had her 6 month checkup on Tuesday. Here are her current stats:

Height: 27.75 inches
Weight: 18lbs 13oz
Head circumference: 17 1/4"

She's such a big baby! She's in the 90th percentile for BOTH height and weight. She had to get three shots this time, which was not fun for her or me. I just hate seeing her in pain, I always tear up a little. And yes, I did decide to give her the H1N1 vaccine. I really talked it over with my doctor. At her 4 month appointment I asked him about it and he said not to worry, the media always overhypes things. But at this appointment his tone changed. He's seen SUCH an outbreak here in the valley that he and all his children got the vaccine even though they never got flu shots before. So after thinking about it, I finally came to the conclusion that the vaccine can't possibly be worse than her actually catching the swine flu. Also, I really trust my doctor. I know he wouldn't advise me to do it unless he thought it was really important. Kate was kind of tired after her shots, but was back to our normal happy healthy baby by the evening!

Which brings me to my next question.

Shouldn't my 6 month old be sleeping through the night?

I remember when she was about 2 months old she used to sleep through the night, and I thought I was so lucky! haha. Well, not so much anymore. Waking up once is fine, but lately she's been waking up like 3 or 4 times. Just last night I put her to bed at 8:30, she woke up at 9:30. I kept her up a little bit to make sure she was really tired and put her back to bed around 10:30. She woke up at 12:30, I fed her and put her back to bed. She woke up at 2:30, I fed her and put her back to bed. She woke up at 4:30, and I fed her and put her back to bed! Holy crap! Is she just going through a growth spurt or something? She really shouldn't be hungry, I fed her 2 jars of baby food and breastfed her before putting her to sleep. I think last weekends trip just really through her off schedule. But to be honest, she started doing this even before we went to Utah. So I guess I can't really blame it on that.

I have no problem putting her to sleep. But how do you help her to stay asleep?

And no, this is not a side effect of vaccinations. :) haha. I know some of you were probably thinking that (Mom)! She's been sleeping like this for more than a week now, and I'm getting pretty tired!
